Why different categories matter
Categories are separated into wind speeds. Well, why do categories matter? If a storm we're 157 mph it would be organized to make categories so we know, how bad a storm is by easily saying a couple of words. Category 5. The winds can bring in waves and can tear a human-made structure apart. Category 1, can't really do anything but shut put your electricity. Category 2, debris and start to fly faster and can break windows. Category 3, it gets critical when everything starts to fall apart. Category 4, the winds can shred your roof off and some gusts can blow in your door. Category 5, the top dog of them all. Everything starts to collapse on you. At 157 mph, gusts can literally blow your house down. (Category winds below)
Category 1: 74-95mph | Category 2: 96-110mph | Category 3: 111-129mph | Category 4: 130-156mph | Category 5: 157mph+
Category 1: 74-95mph | Category 2: 96-110mph | Category 3: 111-129mph | Category 4: 130-156mph | Category 5: 157mph+
